Test results of PCR kits for DNA isolation of streptococcus and staphylococcus

Testing of PCR kits for the diagnosis of streptococcal and staphylococcal infections in pigs. As part of the research, two sets for the molecular genetic diagnosis of streptococcal and staphylococcal infections in pigs were tested: «ВЕТСКРИН.СТРЕПТОПОЛ» and «ВЕТСКРИН.СТАФИПОЛ», developed by ООО НПФ «ЛИТЕХ». The research methodology included the analysis of various biological materials obtained from pigs: flushes from the nasal passages and oral cavity of sows, blood, corpses of piglets. Streptococcal and staphylococcal strains were used as control samples. Heterologous microorganisms were used to assess the specificity of the kits, excluding the possibility of false positive results in the presence of other bacterial infections. The results showed that the sensitivity and group effect of the analyzed sets differed slightly with their intended use. It is important to note that the research results demonstrated the convergence and reproducibility of the data, with a coefficient of variation (Cv) of no more than 5 % and no higher than 10 %, respectively. This indicates the reliability and accuracy of the results obtained. The sensitivity and specificity of the kits correspond to the stated characteristics. This means that the kits are able to effectively detect streptococci and staphylococci, minimizing the risk of false positive and false negative results. Research has shown that both sets are «ВЕТСКРИН.СТРЕПТОПОЛ» and «ВЕТСКРИН.СТАФИПОЛ»are valuable tools for the diagnosis of streptococcal and staphylococcal infections in pigs. However, in case of suspected streptococcal and staphylococcal infection with low DNA concentration or at the initial stages of infection, it is recommended to use various kits for detecting streptococci and staphylococci. This will improve the accuracy of diagnosis and timely take measures to treat and prevent the spread of infection.

Abstract

Testing of PCR kits for the diagnosis of streptococcal and staphylococcal infections in pigs. As part of the research, two sets for the molecular genetic diagnosis of streptococcal and staphylococcal infections in pigs were tested: «ВЕТСКРИН.СТРЕПТОПОЛ» and «ВЕТСКРИН.СТАФИПОЛ», developed by ООО НПФ «ЛИТЕХ».
