The Influence of Digitalization Level on Firm Performance—A Case Study of Pharmaceutical Industry

本文以2018~2023年我国医药行业上市企业为研究样本，利用文本分析法衡量数字化水平程度，实证检验医药行业数字化水平对其企业绩效的影响。研究发现：数字化水平能显著提升企业绩效，且该实证结论经过一系列稳定性检验后仍成立；数字化水平通过促进内部控制质量进而提升企业的绩效水平；并且对处于东部地区的非国有企业而言，数字化水平更能显著提高企业绩效，本文研究为相关医药行业进行数字化转型提供了一定的参考。This paper takes listed enterprises in China’s pharmaceutical industry from 2018 to 2023 as research samples, uses text analysis method to measure the degree of digitalization, and empirically tests the influence of digitalization level in pharmaceutical industry on their corporate performance. The results show that digitization level can significantly improve enterprise performance, and the empirical conclusion is still valid after a series of stability tests. Digital level improves the performance of enterprises by promoting the quality of internal control; in addition, for non-state-owned enterprises in the eastern region, the digitalization level can significantly improve the performance of enterprises. This study provides certain references for the relevant pharmaceutical industry to carry out digital transformation.
