Systematic study on α-decay half-lives within a modified semi-empirical relationship
The ground state [Formula: see text]-decay half-lives are systematically calculated with a modified semi-empirical relationship by introducing the isospin effect and using an accurate charge radius formula. By calculating the standard deviation between the theoretical and the experimental values, it is found that the accuracy of the new modified empirical formula improved 50.05% than its predecessor. Meanwhile, several sets of other semi-empirical relationships or formulas, such as the universal decay law (UDL), the extended universal decay law (EUDL), the Viola–Seaborg–Sobiczewski (VSS) formula, the modified VSS (MVSS) formula, a formula proposed by Y. Qian and Z. Ren (YQZR) and the modified YQZR (MYQZR) formula, are used to estimate the [Formula: see text]-decay half-lives of the same subsets. By comparing the agreement between the calculated ones and the experimental data, it is shown that the accuracy of each modified version included in the isospin effect has been improved than its predecessor. Then, each modified version of these mentioned formulas is extended to predict the [Formula: see text]-decay half-lives of the unmeasured neutron-deficient nuclei, which might be helpful for searching new nuclide in future experiments. At last, the decay modes of the light neutron-deficient nuclei with [Formula: see text]–83 are investigated in detail by discussing the competition between [Formula: see text]-decay and proton radioactivity. The possible decay modes of the nuclei with unmeasured decay branch ratio are predicted within the modified version formulas, which might be helpful for identifying new candidates in future experiments.
