Cover Feature: A New Approach Towards the Synthesis of Imidazol‐4‐Ones Using α‐Diazoesters and Hydrazide Catalysed by Cu(I) Salt (Eur. J. Org. Chem. 14/2025)

The Cover Feature shows the synthesis of imidazol-4-ones from α-diazoesters and hydrazides, catalyzed by a CuI catalyst. The two boats symbolize the reaction pathway, each carrying the same two passengers: α-diazoester and hydrazide. In the absence of a catalyst, the journey leads to the formation of an imine. However, under the influence of “clouds”, representing the CuI catalyst, the reaction takes a different course, resulting in the formation of imidazol-4-ones. Abstract
