La reforma judicial de 1934 y la nueva conformación de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación

The judicial reform of 1934, which consisted of changes in the organization and integration of the Supreme Court of Justice, as well as the elimination of judicial irremovability, has been considered the result of the presidential will of Lázaro Cárdenas, but little attention has been paid to its content and motivations. Its objective was to modify the functioning of the Judicial Power in the face of greater State intervention to achieve social justice, which included the resolution of labor conflicts with the opening of a Chamber in the Court and the loss of autonomy of the judges. Such transformations ensured Cárdenas the support of the unions as they were favored in the legal sphere and, at the same time, contributed to the centralization of political power in the presidential figure.
