Modernizing Public Health Surveillance Systems: A Case Study of Cloud-Based Transformation in State Government.
This study examines the transformative impact of cloud-based solutions on public health surveillance systems within state government agencies. As public health challenges become increasingly complex, traditional data management methods struggle to meet the demands for rapid, comprehensive, and secure information sharing. By migrating surveillance infrastructures to cloud platforms, state governments can harness scalable computing resources, real-time analytics, and enhanced data interoperability. The case study presented herein outlines the strategic planning, implementation phases, and operational benefits observed during the transition process. Key outcomes include improved response times during health emergencies, more accurate disease tracking, and the facilitation of cross-agency collaboration. Moreover, the cloud-based framework has bolstered cybersecurity measures and provided a flexible environment for integrating emerging technologies. This research draws upon a combination of qualitative insights from stakeholder interviews and quantitative performance metrics, offering a holistic evaluation of the transformation process.
