BIOACTIVE SUBSTITUTED ACETOPHENONE DERIVATIVES OF 4-HYDRAZINYL-7H-PYRROLO[2,3-D]PYRIMIDINE: SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURAL INSIGHTS

The synthesis of novel bioactive compounds remains a central focus in pharmaceutical and materials science research. In this study, substituted acetophenone derivatives of 4-hydrazinyl-7H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine were synthesised using structurally diverse acetophenones and hydrazone formation. Optimized reaction conditions ensured high yields and purity of the derivatives. Structural characterization was carried out using FTIR, NMR (¹H and ¹³C), and mass spectrometry, while single-crystal X-ray diffraction was performed on selected compounds. The biological potential of these derivatives was evaluated, with a particular focus on their antibacterial activity, using the microdilution method to determine minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungi. These findings contribute to the expanding field of heterocyclic drug research by highlighting the potential of these compounds as promising candidates for antibacterial and anticancer applications.
