Pregnancy-associated hemolytic uremic syndrome
Atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) is associated with pregnancy or childbirth in 12–31 % of cases and can determine the prognosis of both mother and child. In recent years, more and more attention in obstetric practice has been paid to thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) as one of the most severe pregnancy complications. Despite the fact that TMA rarely develops during pregnancy (obstetric TMA accounts for 8–18 % in the structure of all TMA forms), the high risk of developing preeclampsia, maternal and perinatal mortality, and unfavorable renal prognosis associated with this pathology determine the relevance of studying this problem.
