Evaluation of the effectiveness of angiogenesis blocker replacement in refractory neovascular AMD without a repeated loading period

Currently, there are no clear recommendations for the treatment of refractory neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nVMD), as well as approved schemes for switching from one antiVEGF drug to another. In the course of the study, it was found that the transfer from aflibercept to brolucezumab without a re-loading period was effective, while the transition to faricimab did not show similar results. This study may be an important step in the development and standardization of treatment for refractory nVMD, taking into account the different reactions of patients to various antiVEGF drugs. Keywords: refractory neovascular age-related macular degeneration, brolucizumab, aflibercept, faricimab.
