Analysis and Control of the Power-Type Virtual Synchronous Generator Based on a Phase-locked Loop
The Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) can provide a certain amount of inertia to support the grid, thus improving the stability. However, it also introduces several issues to the system, such as reduced dynamic response speed, increased control complexity, and potential low-frequency oscillations. This paper presents a power-type VSG control strategy based on a phase-locked loop. Compared with the traditional voltage-type VSG control, it has better operating characteristics, power dynamic response characteristics, and lower power coupling characteristics. Firstly, the control structure of the proposed strategy is introduced, and the mathematical modeling and analysis are carried out. Then, combined with mathematical analysis, the strategy is compared and analyzed with the traditional VSG control strategy. Finally, the distinctive characteristics of the proposed strategy are summarized, and potential directions for future work are discussed.
