Modeling and Enhancement of Seismic Resilience for Ultra High Voltage Converter Station
The power system is a critical infrastructure for the development of the national economy, and earthquakes pose a significant threat to the operational safety of the power grid. As a key node for long-distance electrical power transmission, the ability of ultra-high voltage (UHV) converter stations to withstand earthquake and recover swiftly afterward has garnered considerable attention within the industry. This article focuses on the modeling and enhancement methods for the seismic resistance of UHV converter station. Firstly, a component diagram of the UHV converter stations is established, and the post-earthquake transmission function index for individual station is defined. Subsequently, based on seismic intensity data, the failure probability of equipment within each branch at a specified seismic intensity is calculated. Additionally, the seismic resilience index R of the UHV converter station is defined, considering the post-earthquake recovery process. Finally, using data from a specific ±800 kV UHV converter station as a case study, its seismic resilience is assessed. Through comparative analysis, methods to enhance seismic resilience are explored. The research holds significant guidance for enhancing the seismic resilience of the UHV voltage converter stations.
