A Novel Method for Determination of Unit Parameters in Power Systems Considering Frequency Spatial Distribution by Modal Analysis
With the increasing proportion of new energy units in modern power systems, these units often feature adjustable parameters that can be determined based on the system frequency characteristics. This paper presents a novel method for determination of unit parameters in power systems considering frequency spatial distribution by modal analysis. Firstly, the spatial distribution characteristics of system frequency are considered. Then, through the modal analysis method and by considering inter-machine oscillations, the system frequency is analytically calculated to determine the relationship between the main parameters of the generating units and the system frequency. Thus, the parameters of the generating units can be determined when the frequency requirements are given. Finally, the simulation verification was carried out using a 3-machine and 9-bus model to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
