O IMPACTO DA ARBORIZAÇÃO VIÁRIA NO CONFORTO TÉRMICO EM DIFERENTES CENÁRIOS DE DENSIDADE ARBÓREA
With the increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events in urban areas, the need to create action plans for adaptation and mitigation to urban warming at its various scales is evident. In this context, road afforestation becomes an important mitigation strategy. This research aims to evaluate the impact of road afforestation on thermal comfort, comparing four differents scenarios of tree density in two typologies of urban morphology: one classified as local climatic zone (LCZ) 3 and the other as local climatic zone (LCZ) 4, in the city of Cuiabá - MT, where the climate is tropical continental. The method adopted was the computer simulation with Envi-met, comparing the mean radiant temperature (Trm) of a scenario without afforestation with other scenarios that vary the tree density index (TDI). In the end, it is concluded that road afforestation has an impact on the reduction of Trm, but it is not enough to achieve thermal comfort in situations of extreme heat. Furthermore, the TDI is not the only determining factor in the impact of road afforestation on the microclimate, being influenced by other factors, such as the arrangement, the size of the species and the urban morphology.
