Mössbauer Studies of Radiation Damage in CF8 Steel after 57Fe ions Implantation
Abstract Radiation damage in cast austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel CF8 subjected to 57 Fe ions implantation with an energy of 200 keV and a fluence of 5·10 16 and 1·10 17 ion/cm 2 has been investigated using transmission Mössbauer spectroscopy (MS) and conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy (CEMS). After radiation exposure, the ferromagnetic structure was the predominant phase in the near-surface layer, the content of which was ∼ 83.2 ± 0.7 at.%. The austenite phase was dominant in the bulk of the samples. The kinetics of structural-phase transformations in CF8 steel depending on the dose was studied using the reconstruction of hyperfine magnetic field distribution p(H n ) of the CEMS spectra.
