A clinical case of debut of intestinal yersiniosis with symptomatic upper respiratory catarrh

A clinical case of a prolonged course of yersiniosis caused by Y. enterocolitica in a 29-year-old woman with catarrhal syndrome at the onset was considered, which was followed up by doctors of different specialties. The diagnosis of yersiniosis infection was confirmed serologically, and the form and variant of the course were clarified by means of a lifetime study of biopsy material obtained during rectoromanosigmoscopy. The correct diagnosis made it possible to prescribe specific antibacterial therapy with a positive effect. The article gives a brief review of the frequency of upper respiratory tract involvement in yersiniosis infection. Given the polymorphism of the clinical manifestation of yersiniosis infection, practitioners should be alert to the disease in patients with upper respiratory tract involvement, especially in association with gastrointestinal manifestations. Key words: Yersiniosis, yersiniosis infection, Y. enterocolitica, upper respiratory tract catarrh, differential diagnosis
