PROBLEMS OF ATTRACTING INVESTMENTS INTO THE ECONOMY OF UZBEKISTAN AND THEIR CAUSES

The article is devoted to analysing the problems of attracting foreign investment in the economy of Uzbekistan, as well as identifying the key reasons preventing a more active inflow of capital. The author considers the role of the legal and regulatory framework, including the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On Investment and Investment Activity’, in shaping the investment climate. The impact of legislative instability, corruption, administrative barriers and limited access to finance on the country’s attractiveness to foreign investors is noted.
