Green synthesis of V2O5 nanoparticles: Anticancer, antioxidant activity, application in biodiesel production and amino acid derived thioacids
Nanometal oxides are exposing their activities in the fields of organic synthesis, material science, drug discovery, drug delivery, biological activities etc. In the current investigation, we envisioned a process for producing V 2 O 5 nanoparticles from Parkia seeds and utilized them to create N α -protected amino thioacids. The V 2 O 5 NPs characterization was performed using FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM, and EDX techniques. The thioacids are versatile compounds in organic synthesis, exhibiting their application in the peptide and peptidomimetic design and synthesis. The thioacids are isolated in good yields and are characterized by NMR and mass analysis. Further, the DPPH assay was used to measure the sample's antioxidant activity, and its anticancer activity was also investigated. • In the present communication, Utilizing Parkia seeds as a fuel source under ultrasonication, a sustainable synthesis process was utilized to produce V 2 O 5 NPs. • We demonstrated the conversion of N α -protected amino acids into thioacids by utilizing a nano V 2 O 5 /Na 2 S system under ultrasonication. • The synthesized V 2 O 5 nanoparticles are subjected to anti-cancer and anti-oxidant activity. • Using these NPs as a catalyst, biodiesel made from leftover cooking oil from restaurants blends in with the regular diesel and is appropriate for use in the CI engine. • This approach would offer a more environmentally friendly, scalable process for the synthesis of thioacids, which are crucial for the design and synthesis of peptides and peptidomimetic molecules.
