Flood Monitoring and Rescue System Using AI and IoT
Developing a system for monitoring floods and facilitating rescue operations is an IoT-based device to handle challenges that flood disasters pose. It gathers, among others, information fromwater level sensors, weather sensors, and surveillance cameras for monitoring in real-time of flood-prone areas. The central control unit analyzes data and estimates how serious the flood condition is. This is followed by creating automated alerts according to predetermined thresholds, which are sent through SMS, email, or mobile applications to relevant authorities andindividuals. The system also uses the GPS tracking system for rapid tracking and rescue operations as it pinpoints locations of individuals in distress. Therefore, in this regard, the IoT-based system allows proactive decision-making, timely response, and coordination between stakeholders in disaster management. In theory, this constitutes a significant step forward in flood management technology as it develops an integrated solution that monitors and responds to flood events and hence strengthens communities affected by disasters.
