On the issue of diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 in family medicine
СOVID-19 is a novel coronavirus infection, which is a severe acute respiratory infection caused by a virus of the coronavirus family of 45 species. The world continues to face a public health threat as cases reach more than 650 million people. Therefore, it is crucial to accumulate practical experience and research results to improve therapeutic strategies and create the basis for the development of a new type of antiviral drugs that specifically block viral replication by suppressing the activity of the corresponding parts of the virus genome. One of the dangerous complications of COVID-19 is the cytokine (kinin) storm. Its main characteristic is the overactivity of the immune system, which begins to attack healthy cells in the body, causing multiple organ failure. This article is devoted to the features of the pathogenesis and therapy of COVID-19 and the cytokine storm that occurs in severe forms of COVID.
