METHODOLOGY FOR SELECTING INDIVIDUAL ELEMENTS OF COMBAT EQUIPMENT FOR SECURITY FORCES PERSONNEL USING THE EXAMPLE OF OPTICAL OBSERVATION DEVICES

The article examines the methodology for selecting individual elements of combat equipment for security personnel, using optical observation devices as an example, with the aim of developing approaches to forming an optimal composition of combat equipment that ensures a specified or maximally achievable level of task performance efficiency. It has been established that when selecting individual elements of combat equipment for inclusion in the combat equipment set, it is possible to achieve a result where, regardless of priority, the elements of combat equipment can satisfy the required probability values for completing each stage of the task as well as the task as a whole. Alternatively, depending on priority, it is possible to ensure the required probability of completing task stages only at certain stages, particularly by reducing this probability at other stages. The article discusses the procedure for solving the problem of selecting optical observation devices for the combat equipment set when it is not possible to satisfy both criteria of the assigned task (the probability of security personnel not being detected by the enemy and the probability of completing the task as a whole). It also provides the decision-maker with possible alternative solutions. A methodology for selecting individual elements of combat equipment for security personnel has been developed. This methodology involves forming a set of solution options for selecting a subsystem element sample for the combat equipment set based on the indicators 'probability of completing task stages' and 'probability of completing the task as a whole,' and then forming a Pareto-optimal set of options from it. The methodology further includes determining the efficiency indicators of task performance for each variant of the combat equipment set and selecting from the available Pareto-optimal alternatives the variant that best meets the requirements of the assigned task. The application of this methodology allows for the selection of subsystem element samples for inclusion in the combat equipment set, which, based on their characteristics, support the specified or maximally achievable level of efficiency in performing assigned tasks. The obtained results can be used to form new combat equipment sets or to improve existing ones.
