WAYS TO IMPROVE THE MANEUVERABILITY OF MILITARY VEHICLES IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE ENEMY'S ACTIVE USE OF FPV DRONES

The modern nature of combat operations is determined by the widespread use by the enemy of unmanned systems that constantly hover over the battlefield, both for the purpose of conducting reconnaissance and, accordingly, for the purpose of destroying our forces. The defeat of military automotive equipment, which is used for the rotation of personnel and the logistical support of our troops, is especially active. Therefore, the issue of increasing the survival time of vehicles in conditions of active action of enemy weapons is relevant. There are several approaches to solving this issue: improving speed characteristics, improving armor, improving cross-country ability and improving maneuverability. The implementation of all these improvements in the design of the car leads to its complexity and increase in cost. However, the main prerogative of the military-political leadership is to preserve the life and health of personnel and, accordingly, to fulfill the assigned task. Therefore, increased costs when approaching the design of vehicles with the above-mentioned problems solved are fundamental. The purpose of this article is to justify the complication of the design of a military vehicle in order to improve its maneuverability. This issue is most significant in the conditions of combat operations in urban areas, with a large amount of destruction, a small number of roads and the ability to hide equipment in the folds of the terrain in the shortest possible time. The ability to avoid an attack by an FPV drone, due to the presence of improved maneuverability. By means of mathematical analysis, a comparison is made of the behavior of an all-wheel drive vehicle with one steered axle and an all-wheel drive vehicle with steered all wheels. Keywords: maneuverability, control system, fully steerable vehicle, turning pattern of a military vehicle with four steerable wheels, vehicle controllability.
