First person – Mary Fesenko
ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Mary Fesenko is first author on ‘ ATG9A vesicles are a subtype of intracellular nanovesicle’, published in JCS. Mary conducted the research described in this article while a PhD student in Professor Stephen Royle's lab at Centre for Mechanochemical Cell Biology, Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick, Coventry, UK. She is now a Career Transition Fellow in the lab of Dr Darius Köster at the same location investigating the molecular mechanisms of intracellular membrane traffic.
