Research on target recognition based on minimum radial diameter and mass-to-resistance ratio

Abstract Radar detection target recognition technology has always been a focus of equipment development and technical research. This article mainly introduces feature extraction based on the minimum radius and mass-to-resistance ratio in narrowband motion features. The minimum radius feature can be mainly applied to the classification and recognition of three major targets: space targets, aircraft targets, and missile targets. The mass-to-resistance ratio feature can effectively distinguish between ballistic missile warheads and decoys. Based on the feature extraction algorithm, simulation analysis, and semi-physical simulation were conducted to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the recognition algorithm. The mass-to-resistance ratio of the warhead is around 16, 000, while that of the heavy decoy is around 8, 000, which varies with the altitude of re-entry and can be used as a means of re-entry identification.
