Only the courage of democracies can revive respect for international law and curb tyranny
The author analyzes the reasons for the relatively unpunished attack of bloody dictatorships on international law and human rights. Using the example of Russia and the Russian-Ukrainian war, the cause-and-effect relationship between this attack, the indecision of democracies, and the imperfection of international organizations and mechanisms is revealed. A set of measures for democratic states to implement the principle of the inevitability of punishment for crimes committed by dictators against their citizens and other states is proposed.
