Isolation, Identification, Biochemical profile and antifungal effect against Candida spp. of an actinomycete isolated from Aniba parviflora rhizosphere on Amazon region, Brazil
This work evaluated the antifungal potential of Streptomyces sp. MPO-3 isolated from rhizospheric soil of Aniba parviflora Syn fragans (Macacaporanga). Bioactive compounds were retrieved from submerged fermentation broth by ethyl acetate extraction. The extraction resulted in ethyl acetate crude extract, and this preparation was taken to be evaluated against Candida albicans and Candida krusei. The ethyl acetate showed being active against tested Candida spp. The time course profile assay showed that 24 h of fermentation returned bioactive molecules with inhibition power against C. albicans and 72 h for C. krusei. The minimum fungistatic concentration assay reached 78.1µg/mL for C. albicans and 156 µg/mL for C. krusei. Based on the results presented here, the strain Streptomyces sp. MPO-3 showed the ability to produce active metabolites with an anti-candida effect.
