Ultrasound of the tongue as an uncommon site: a focus on technique and early diagnosis of lingual pathologies
Tongue ultrasound, though less conventional in radiology, provides high-resolution images without ionizing radiation, allowing for precise evaluation of superficial lesions. This article aims to increase awareness of its utility and promote its adoption in clinical practice.Characteristic findings of a variety of lesions are highlighted through clinical cases evaluated in our institution. This technique emerges as a safe and cost-effective alternative for the diagnosis and monitoring of lingual pathologies, proving to be a promising tool for early detection and effective management of these conditions.
