A NAU, O HOMEM E O MUNDO – PARTICULARIDADES DE UMA LINGUÍSTICA EM CONSTRUÇÃO

This article focuses on one of the great dilemmas of modern linguistics: the clash between linguistic theory and practice. Methodologically, the text is developed through a bibliographical review, carried out in collections consulted on physical and digital media. The main objective of the production is to revisit this dialectic, presenting some authors and theoretical currents that revolve around it. This research is justified by the recurring need to provide the academic world with possibilities for reading and applying classic and contemporary authors in the field of linguistics. The result is a brief pragmatic 'insult' made available to linguistic studies, contributing to the promotion of contemporary discussions in this area of knowledge. The main bibliographical contribution of the research is the work Linguistics? What is it? (FIORIN, 2023). The corpus of analysis used was the wording of an exam from the Graduate Program in Linguistics at USP, in 2024.
