INVESTIGATION OF DATA TRANSMISSION DELAYS IN MEDICAL NETWORKS USING THE IFOGSIM PROGRAM

This article presents a study of data transmission latencies in medical networks using the iFogSim software environment. The advantages of iFogSim compared to other modeling tools are described, including its ability to consider the features of fog and cloud computing. A simulation model consisting of end devices, fog nodes, and cloud data centers are described. The simulation results aimed at analyzing factors affecting latencies are presented. It is demonstrated that fog nodes provide minimal latency due to local processing, while cloud centers, despite their high computing power, are characterized by significant latencies due to their remoteness. The present research contributes to the development of methods for optimizing data transmission in medical networks, which is important in order to improve the quality of modern healthcare services.
