Contribution of the 10th Infantry Division of the NKVD Internal Troops to the victory at Stalingrad

The topic of the activities of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the USSR still causes heated discussions in society. This is closely related to the issue of demarcating the boundary between history and politics. However, for the scientific consciousness, any "dark" or "white" sides of various historical phenomena are not significant in terms of value, since science has a clear commitment to the objectivity of re search. In this regard, the need to study the issue of the NKVD's activities during the Great Patriotic War allows us to give, firstly, an unbiased look at it, secondly, it allows us to reveal another side of this conflict, and thirdly, it is of practical importance – the use of modern analogues of these bodies to solve similar problems. The purpose of the study is to determine the contribution of the 10th Infantry Division of the NKVD in ternal troops to the victory at Stalingrad. The subject of the study is the activities of the 10th Infantry Division of the NKVD internal troops in the Battle of Stalingrad. This article is a continuation of the author's research. It reviewed the main elements of the unit's activities in the specified battle, and identified their features. It was revealed that functionally, the 10th Infantry Division of the NKVD internal troops had significantly expanded its tasks, which made it possible to hold Stalingrad in the difficult situation on the Stalingrad front, and thus made a significant contribution to victory in the defensive stage of the battle. Some problems of modern Russian histo riography on this topic were also noted. Тема деятельности Народного комиссариата внутренних дел СССР до сих пор вызывает в обществе жаркие дискуссии. Это тесно связано с вопросом о демаркации границы между историей и политикой. Однако для научного сознания любые «темные» или «белые» стороны различных исторических феноменов не имеют существенного значения в ценностном плане, поскольку в науке есть четкая установка на объективность исследования. В этой связи необходимость изучения вопроса деятельности НКВД в период Великой Отечественной войны позволяет дать, во-первых, непредвзятый взгляд на нее, во-вторых, позволяет раскрыть еще одну сторону этого конфликта, а в-третьих, имеет прикладное значение – применение современных аналогов данных органов для решения подобных задач. Целью исследования является определить вклад 10-й стрелковой дивизии внутренних войск НКВД в победу под Сталинградом. Предметом исследования является деятельность 10-й стрелковой дивизии внутренних войск НКВД в Сталинградской битве. Данная статья является продолжением авторских изысканий. В ней были рассмотрены основные элементы деятельности соединения в указанном сражении, определены их особенности. Было выявлено, что функционально у 10-й стрелковой дивизии внутренних войск НКВД были существенно расширены ее задачи, что позволило в условиях тяжелой ситуации на Сталинградском фронте удержать г. Сталинград, и т. о. это внесло существенный вклад в победу в оборонительном этапе битвы. Также были отмечены некоторые проблемы современной отечественной историографии по названной теме.
