Venous vascularization of the bladder of Yorkshire pigs in the age aspect

Abstract. The purpose of our study was to study the anatomical and topographic features of intramural and extramural venous vascularization of the bladder in the age aspect of Yorkshire pigs in two age groups. The material for the study was Yorkshire pigs: the first group consisted of three–month-old fetuses of prenatal ontogenesis, and the second group consisted of piglets of 30 days of postnatal ontogenesis. The main research methods were classical morphological techniques: fine anatomical dissection, morphometry, vasorentgenography, photographing, statistical processing. The research was conducted at the Department of Animal Anatomy of the St. Petersburg State University of Veterinary Medicine. The scientific novelty of this study is that for the first time the anatomical and topographic features of the course and branching of intramural and extramural venous vascularization of the bladder were investigated in the age aspect of Yorkshire pigs in two age groups. According to the results of the study, it was found that the course and branching of blood vessels in the drainage of the bladder in Yorkshire pigs has its own specific and age-related features, namely, it contains a large number of anastomoses with adjacent vessels of organs located near the bladder, especially with the reproductive organs, which proves the strong relationship of these organs. During the study, it was determined that the cranial cystic vein is the most developed in both age groups according to all morphometric indicators, it has a large number of medium and large anastomoses. As pigs age, the veins begin to develop unevenly, with an intensive increase in all morphometric parameters (length, diameter, number of valves).
