Students' Perceptions of Smp Muhammadiyah 4 Delanggu Stuedents on the Short Story “Buat Apa Disesali” in the Sepotong Hati Yang Baru Collection by Tere Liye

This study explores the perceptions of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Delanggu students regarding the short story Buat Apa Disesali from Sepotong Hati yang Baru by Tere Liye. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected from students in grades VII–IX through questionnaires and structured interviews, with validity ensured via source triangulation. Findings indicate that students responded positively, demonstrating a strong understanding of intellectual aspects such as themes, plot, and characters, as well as emotional aspects like engagement, emotions, and authenticity.
