Sleep deprivation and the development of oxidative stress in animal models
Sleep deprivation contributes to the accumulation of highly toxic products of lipid peroxidation in the body tissues, which is reflected in metabolic disorders, and a decrease in adaptive capabilities. Additional administration of resveratrol helps to reduce the amplitude of fluctuations in redox balance, which can be considered as a possible way to correct oxidative stress and prevent disorders associated with sleep restriction and dysregulation of the sleep-wake cycle.
