Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from poultry farms using technologies for processing poultry manure
The study substantiates the possibilities of using the best available technologies for processing organic waste in poultry farms to reduce direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions. Calculations of direct emissions from poultry farming in Russia and the Novosibirsk region for the period 2020-2022 have been carried out. Direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions were calculated. The approaches to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from poultry farms using various technologies for processing poultry manure and, in particular. The use of technologies for processing bird droppings to produce biogas makes it possible to reduce the use of fossil fuels in poultry farms in the Novosibirsk region and Russia. Using the best available technologies for processing poultry manure allows poultry farms not only to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but even to generate income from its processing.
