PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS' OPINIONS TOWARDS INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES (ICT) IN EDUCATION: A MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS
This study investigates the perceptions of current pre-service teachers regarding the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education. A total of 100 pre-service teachers participated in the study, which involved an orientation on ICT in education followed by observations of its applications through various software tools. The findings reveal that most participants held positive attitudes towards ICT and expressed enthusiasm about its integration into the educational process. However, the study also uncovered factors that created hesitation among some pre-service teachers, leading them to approach ICT integration with caution. A multivariate analysis was conducted to examine the factors influencing their views, categorizing responses as positive, negative, or neutral. The analysis highlighted significant relationships between beliefs about ICT and several key variables, including subject matter, teaching experience, and gender. These factors were found to play a substantial role in shaping the participants' perceptions of ICT's potential and challenges in the educational context. The study underscores the importance of understanding the complex interplay between personal characteristics and attitudes towards technology in education, suggesting that tailored interventions may be necessary to address concerns and foster more widespread acceptance of ICT in teaching practices.
