From Self-Care to Care for World : Ecopoetic Analysis of "Le Labyrinthe du Monde" by Marguerite Yourcenar
Self-writing – by the ancient model of “care of the self”, epimeleia heautou in Greek, analysed by Michel Foucault – is at the heart of an active process of formation and transformation of our existence and our relationship to the world. Marguerite Yourcenar affirms her refusal of the anthropocentric model by practicing transpersonal and decentred writing. She transmits a new political vision of living together in interdependence and concern for oneself, others, animals, and ecosystems.
