Crystal structure, magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of the new orthorhombic Y3Co2-type Gd3Co1+<i>x</i>Ni1−<i>x</i> solid solution
The discovery of the novel Gd 3 Co 1+ x Ni 1− x compound is reported. It is shown that the magnetocaloric properties are among the best in its working temperature range and Co/Ni substitution tunes the working temperature without compromising performance.
