hermana muerta de Pilar Primo de Rivera y algunos modos de coser pensando en el pasado
This text will be a loose stitch in the fabric of the imaginary; between plastic covers of old photographs and fingerprints from a recent consultation. Through a series of reflections motivated by sewing and approaches to history through folklore and manual production, this essay presents a brief glimpse into how one can confront the history of the construction and reconstruction of Francoist imaginaries in Spain and their archaeological remains. The Primo de Rivera and Sáenz de Heredia’s siblings, threads and glass beads; dances, yokes and arrows. This text whispers a concise attempt to unravel the identity and power strategies of the Spanish Falange and the Franco regime, exposing and bringing to the fore the personal artistic research project Toda la poesía. It is a guided tour through an intricate room full of shadows and ruins, which explains a particular case of artistic and historical research methodology.
