Investigation Method for Identifying the Distribution of Freshwater Blue Carbon
In this study, we will examine the survey methods for freshwater blue carbon, which is thought to be a carbon sink rather than a source of carbon dioxide emissions. The freshwater blue carbon that is attracting attention is the Japanese endemic species Sasa Vamos, and we will use CycleGAN to clarify images and side scan sonar and multi-beam sonar to confirm whether it is possible to acquire features that can be used to distinguish whether or not this species is growing in the water or near the water surface. Data acquisition was carried out at a reservoir in Kobe City and Lake Biwa.
