Asymmetric hydrogenation of α-pyrrolyl terminal alkenes: An easy access to enantioenriched pyrroles bearing a C2 Me-substituted stereogenic center

Herein we report a Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of α-pyrrolyl terminal alkenes to afford a series of enantioenriched pyrroles bearing a C2 Me-substituted stereogenic center. The reaction features easy operation, mild conditions and excellent enantiocontrol (up to 99 % ee ). The products can be easily derivatized into diverse chiral pyrroles through facile transformations on the C5 position through the Friedel-Crafts reaction. Herein a highly efficient and enantioselective Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of α-pyrrolyl terminal alkenes is reported, providing a series of enantioenriched pyrroles bearing a C2 Me-substituted stereogenic center with excellent enantiocontrol (up to 99 % ee ).
