Naphthalimide‐Triazole Affixed Rhodamine Probe for FRET‐Based Selective Detection of Pd 2+ Ion in Living Cells
Abstract A naphthalimide–triazole–rhodamine conjugate (Pd‐select) selectively detects Pd 2+ ion via fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) process in aqueous media. In the presence of Pd 2+ , the colorless “Pd‐select” turns pink visibly while its green fluorescence turns orange‐red. The association constant and lowest detection limit (LOD) of Pd‐select for Pd 2+ are 1.5 × 10 4 M −1 and 2 µM, respectively. The Pd‐select successfully images intracellular Pd 2+ in live HeLa and SiHa cells. In addition, DFT studies corroborate experimental findings.
