PROBLEMS OF DECARBONIZATION OF PLANT PRODUCTION SECTOR AT THE PRESENT STAGE

The growth of greenhouse gas content in the atmosphere, which affects global warming on Earth, is one of the main challenges of the 21st century. To a large extent, this is associated with anthropogenic activity (the use of fossil fuels in transport, energy production, industrial and agricultural production, etc.). The purpose of the research is a retrospective analysis of planetary warming caused by human activity to identify problems associated with the decarbonization of the plant production sector. The research methodology is based on the study and analysis of publications by domestic and foreign authors on carbon topics using general scientific methods. It is incorrect to consider anthropogenic activity as the main culprit of global warming on the planet. Decarbonization of economic sectors by reducing emissions of CO2, methane, and nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere is a priority in the development and use of technologies in various areas of material production, including agriculture. At the same time, the transition of crop production to low-carbon models faces many difficulties that require philosophical, methodological and methodical analysis. Soils and agrophytocenoses play an important role in regulating the content of greenhouse gas in the troposphere. One of the key problems is the lack of a unified methodology for assessing the volumes of greenhouse gas deposition and emission in agriculture, which complicates an objective assessment of the results obtained, as well as a regulatory framework for their emission and deposition by different types of soil for a wide range of agricultural crops under various cultivation technologies. An inventory of sources and a quantitative assessment of greenhouse gas flows in crop production and agriculture will allow developing strategies for reducing their carbon neutrality that are adequate to the level of management in order to curb the pace of global climate change.
