NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF HEATING OF A THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE DEVICE FOR HEATING A GREENHOUSE

In the context of modern energy consumption and increasing demand for energy-efficient technologies, heat accumulation systems capable of ensuring the efficient use of excess energy are of particular relevance. One of the promising areas in this area is the use of high-temperature heat carriers and specialized thermal insulation materials. This work is devoted to the development and study of a thermal energy storage device using tin as a heat carrier and a ceramic heat accumulator with tungsten screens for thermal insulation. As part of the study, a design of a thermal energy accumulator was developed and modeled, intended for the accumulation of thermal energy and its subsequent use in heating systems of greenhouses and other objects of the agro-industrial complex. The aim of the work is a numerical two-dimensional simulation of the heating process of a thermal energy storage device using SimInTech software package. In the course of numerical simulation, the dependences of the change in the temperature of the outer surface of the thermal insulation (asbestos) on time were calculated at different values of the mass flow rate of tin of 0.1-0.3 kg/s, the number of tungsten screens from 3 to 12 and their emissivity from 0.04 to 0.8. The results showed that an increase in the number of tungsten screens slows down the heating of the outer surface of the thermal insulation, which increases the efficiency of the system. With an increase in tin consumption, the heating process accelerates, which indicates faster heat transfer. A change in the emissivity of tungsten screens affects the intensity of heat transfer: screens with a high emissivity absorb more heat, which requires an increase in their number to maintain the insulating properties. The study confirmed the possibility of using SimInTech software package for modeling the heating processes of a heat accumulator; a two-dimensional axisymmetric model made it possible to take into account temperature changes in the radial and axial directions, which ensured an accurate representation of thermal processes.
