Understanding sustainable consumption: consumer awareness, information sources, and stakeholders

This study explores the differences in citizens’ perceptions regarding conscious consumption, information sources about sustainable practices, and the agents responsible for sustainability initiatives. It also assesses the level of knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The data collection instrument yielded 312 valid responses, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and variance analysis. Based on this robust analysis, the results indicate that individuals with greater knowledge of the SDGs tend to demand more detailed information on product labels and packaging and recognize individual responsibility as crucial for promoting sustainable practices. Conversely, those who receive qualified information about sustainability through the media do not always show a deep understanding of the SDGs. This study underscores the need to integrate discussions on sustainability more effectively into scientific research, given the growing relevance of the topic.

It also assesses the level of knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The data collection instrument yielded 312 valid responses, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and variance analysis. Conversely, those who receive qualified information about sustainability through the media do not always show a deep understanding of the SDGs.
