A Comprehensive Analysis Of Mobile Phone Selection By Using MCDM Methods Throughout AHP, COPRAS, and TOPSIS On Assessment Of Customer Preferences.

The objective of this research article is to select the optimal mobile model from the various options available in the market. For the purpose of this analysis, 24 different mobile models from various brands were chosen from several online shopping platforms, covering a range of specifications and priced from low to medium budget. An online and offline survey was conducted with Rajshahi City residents, encompassing students, engineers, salespeople, medical professionals, teachers, and other experts. The selection process is done based on 31 important criteria i.e. price, ROM, RAM , operating system brand value, camera quality, battery capacity and so on. AHP was used to check data consistency, and SPSS was employed to verify data reliability. This selection process incorporates two MCDM tools: Complex Proportional Assessment (COPRAS) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). Applying individual COPRAS and TOPSIS methods, the best mobile is selected, with each process proposing its own preference ranking order of the models. Comparing the proposed ranking orders by both methods shows that the outcomes are more or less identical, with minor changes in the middle-order rankings. Both processes give model 3 as the best among 24 alternatives.
