Performance Analysis of Reliable Transport Protocols in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
Ad Hoc networks are self-organizing wireless networks that do not rely on fixed infrastructure and have broad application prospects. Due to the limited wireless spectrum resources and the dynamic changes in channel conditions in Ad Hoc networks, there is a higher demand for the throughput performance of reliable transport protocols. This paper focuses on reliable transport protocols in Ad Hoc networks, using a certain Ad Hoc ultra-short wave radio, and conducts performance testing of several typical reliable transport protocols in different communication environments of the Ad Hoc network. The experimental results show that under long-distance and obstruction conditions such as forests and corridors, the throughput and overall performance of the middleware-based reliable transport mechanism surpass those of alternative protocols, greatly improving the wireless communication performance in mobile Ad Hoc environments.
