An improved Combination Algorithm for Tone Reservation and Active Constellation Extension Based on Least Squares Approximation
An important drawback of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems is the high Peak Average Power Ratio (PAPR). Among various PAPR reduction techniques, probabilistic methods are widely used due to their non-distortion characteristics. These methods primarily disrupt the phase coherence between subcarriers by using additional data. This paper proposes a combined optimization algorithm named Least Squares Approximation - Tone Reservation - Active Constellation Extension - Projection onto Convex Sets (LSA-TR-ACE-POCS) algorithm, which combines the Least Squares Approximation-Tone Reservation (LSA-TR) algorithm with the Least Squares Approximation - Active Constellation Extension - Projection onto Convex Sets (LSA-ACE-POCS) algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate that the LSA-TR-ACE-POCS algorithm can reduce the PAPR to about 6dB with low complexity and low Bit Error Rate (BER), which has practical application significance in engineering.
