Determination of technological parameters of high-energy processing of titanium VT22 alloy to increase wear resistance and microhardness of surface layer
When testing counterbells (pads) made of hardened steel 45 (without hardening treatment) and bodies (rollers) made of titanium alloy VT22, processed according to various modes of combined high-energy technology, using the example of electromechanical processing (EMO) in combination with isothermal aging, an increase in relative wear resistance at the base number of cycles up to 100 times and microhardness up to 40 % was observed compared to the delivery state (initial state), respectively. For EMO modes with high current density and additional aging operation, significant structural changes occurred. In particular, multimodal gradient structures with different scale levels were formed with high-density direct current EMO.
