PHYSICAL MODELING OF THE OF THE MILITARY VEHICLE MOTION CONTROL SYSTEM

Physical modeling of cars, performed on stands and simulators, is one of the effective methods for studying and improving the structure and operation of these cars, identifying the advantages and disadvantages of their designs, and the features of operation in normal and extreme conditions. Based on the analysis of existing designs of new models of military automotive equipment, the functional units of military cars that are repeated and their mutual influence from the point of view of the main functions of the car have been established. The minimum number of elements included in the automated vehicle movement control system of a typical design has been established: steering mechanism, suspension and brake system. These elements have been analyzed from the point of view of their design and physical location on cars of different manufacturers, on the one hand, and from the point of view of the automated vehicle movement control system on the road, on the other hand. In this regard, the following have been analyzed: a typical design of an independent suspension, an automated steering mechanism control system based on a torque sensor on the steering shaft, a brake system with a corresponding ABS sensor. Based on the results of the analysis of the elements of the automated vehicle traffic control system, a stand design was developed and manufactured, which is used in the study of the operation of the specified elements. During the study, constructive advantages and disadvantages were identified, which makes it possible to provide proposals for their elimination by changing the design of the vehicle elements. For example, an additional mechanism for eliminating the backlash of the steering rack was proposed, and proposals were developed to improve the electric power steering. Keywords: military automotive equipment, vehicle motion control system, control mechanism, physical model of the vehicle, steering, steering shaft, suspension, brake system, Hall elements.
