Models tracking the impact of changes in gross value added on labour productivity in the service sector

The article uses various theoretical models to investigate the impact of changes in gross value added on labor productivity in the service sector. Due to the differences in the level of labor productivity in the different sectors of the economy, it is necessary to trace to what extent the redistribution of labor resources in favor of services has influenced the increase or decrease in this productivity. However, the study of the LP in the Bulgarian conditions in most cases encounters a number of problems, such as the significant share of the shadow economy, the later stage of the start of restructuring in the country, as well as the periodic changes in the statistical methodology, which complicates research on the issue.

Abstract

The article uses various theoretical models to investigate the impact of changes in gross value added on labor productivity in the service sector. Due to the differences in the level of labor productivity in the different sectors of the economy, it is necessary to trace to what extent the redistribution of labor resources in favor of services has influenced the increase or decrease in this productivity. However, the study of the LP in the Bulgarian conditions in most cases encounters a number of problems, such as the significant share of the shadow economy, the later stage of the start of restructuring in the country, as well as the periodic changes in the statistical methodology, which complicates research on the issue.
