Analysis of Pollution Factors in Pharmaceutical Industry Wastewater and Research on Pollution Control Strategies

In this paper, the pollution characteristics and control strategies of wastewater in the pharmaceutical industry were thoroughly analysed, and the control indices of wastewater pollution factors were discussed against the backdrop of the Shanghai pharmaceutical industry. Pharmaceutical wastewater presents a significant challenge to environmental management due to its complexity, high toxicity, and non-biodegradability. The study indicated that wastewater primarily originates from raw material production, auxiliary production, cleaning water, and domestic sewage, containing substantial amounts of refractory organic matter, inorganic salts, heavy metals, and microbial metabolites. Given the complexity of wastewater treatment, a comprehensive treatment scheme encompassing physicochemical treatment, biological treatment, and advanced treatment was proposed. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was employed to evaluate the importance of control indicators, providing a theoretical foundation for the development of scientific wastewater treatment strategies. Moreover, the government's role in establishing stringent emission standards, advocating cleaner production technologies, implementing economic incentives, and bolstering environmental regulation was underscored. In conclusion, this study offers a crucial reference for fostering sustainable development and ecological environment protection within the pharmaceutical industry.
